James Meek, 95, of Wichita Falls, died Saturday, May 8, 2010.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 12, 2010, in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Homes of Wichita Falls with the Rev. William Carnley, pastor of Maurine Street Church of God and the Rev. John Gardner, officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

A son of the late Austin and Maude B. (Reed) Meek, he was born January 14, 1915, in Ada, Oklahoma. He worked as a welder for most of his life. He was also preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his daughter, Barbara Hickman and husband, Raymond of Wichita Falls; brother, Raymond Meek and wife, Belva of Paradise, California; sister, Mary Silva and husband, Bud; two grandchildren, Lori Jones and husband, Steven of Wichita Falls and Sfc. David Hickman and wife, Lori of Fort Drum, New York; and seven great-great-grandchildren, Katy, Jordan, Jewlya, and Carley Hickman, Jeremiah and Matthew Jones andKayla Mae Braley.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

For those desiring, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
