Jesus C. Torres, Sr., 90, of Wichita Falls, went to meet our Lord on Monday, December 24, 2007.

The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2007, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Fr. John Robert Skeldon, pastor, and the Deacon Anastacio Perez, con-celebrants. Rite of committal will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

Mr. Torres was born November 5, 1917, in La Piedad de Michocan, Mexico. He served in the Mexican Navy for several years. In 1944, he came to the United States. In 1947, he married Theresa Ramos in Henrietta. He worked for the railroad and was self employed for over twenty years as the owner of Torres & Sons Concrete Construction Company. He built many buildings in Wichita Falls and throughout Texas. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Torres; mother, Maria Solorio; brother, Felix Solorio; and a son, Donald Torres. He will be remembered as a wonderful, providing, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa Torres of Wichita Falls; their children, Johnny Torres; Jesse Torres, Jr. and wife, Mary; Delia Estrada and husband, Richard; Sally Garcia and husband, John; Ofelia Torres; Robert Torres; Orlando Torres, all of Wichita Falls; and Christina Darne’ and husband, Maj. Bill Darne’ of El Paso; siblings, Manuel Solorio, Mike Solorio, Juan Solorio, San Juana Hernandez, all of Wichita Falls; and Lupe Jimenez of San Antonio; grandchildren, Melissa, Jesse III, Tina, Tony, Elena, Richard III, Donnie, Andrew Che’, Selina, Cody, Jacob, Andrew, Serena, Alyssa, Seth, and Miranda; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2007, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

For those desiring, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made Hospice of Wichita Falls.

The family will be at 4408 Mallory Lane in Wichita Falls.
