Donald O. Duncan, 77, of Wichita Falls, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012, in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with Dr. John Knox, Chaplain of Department of Public Safety, officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

A son of the late Arthur B. and Nora (Phelps) Duncan, he was born on November 25, 1934. On November 9, 1957, he married Dorothy Carter. He served our country proudly in the U.S. Army and the National Guard. In 1991, he retired from the Wichita Falls Police Department where he served for 34 years. He was member of West Side Baptist Church, a member and past master of Joseph A. Kemp Lodge #1287 Af & AM, and a former member of the Red River Blue Grass Club. Donald enjoyed playing the guitar, and fishing, but his greatest pleasure was playing with his three grandsons. He was a loving husband, father, and pappaw who will be missed dearly. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Julia Duncan; and his brother, Arthur B. Duncan.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Duncan; his son, Mike Duncan and wife Deann all of Wichita Falls; his sister, Evelyn Craig of Ft. Worth; three brothers, Travis Duncan and wife Jani of Granbury, Hallie Duncan and wife Annie Mae of Farmington, New Mexico, and George Duncan and wife Nita of Livingston; three grandchildren, Peyton, Connor, and Garrett; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
