Marilyn Laverne Hale, 76, of Burkburnett, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at her home in Wichita Falls.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett with Mr. Ronnie Lawson, officiating. Interment will follow at Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett.

Marilyn was born June 11, 1936 in Burkburnett, Texas to Orion and Ruth (Spannagel) Walkup. After graduating high school, she married Wendell Hale in Lawton, Oklahoma on May 23, 1953. She was a homemaker. Marilyn's passion in life was her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Lowell Walkup.

She is survived by her husband, Wendell Hale of Wichita Falls; her daughter, Connie Patty and husband Don of Burkburnett; two sons, Roy Hale of Burkburnett, and Curtis Hale of Wichita Falls; a brother, Gilbert Walker and wife Brenda of Clute; two sisters, Esther Livingston and husband John of Battle Ground , Washington, and Louise Pemberton and husband Bill of Duncan, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Maxine Rankin of Wichita Falls; three grandchildren, Christopher Patty and wife Christina of Sugarland, Brian Patty of Grapevine, and Michael Patty of Lewisville; and two great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Ethan Patty.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett.

Marilyn was a very dear friend in High School (Burkburnett). She was a sweet and lovable friend. I wanted to be there for the memorial service, but was unable to come at this time. Love to Wendell and the family.
