Tommy Don Youngblood, 46, of Wichita Falls, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 26, 2008.

The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 28, 2008, in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls, with the Rev. Don Pellikan, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Burkburnett, officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

Tommy was born November 8, 1961, in Wichita Falls to Donald and Charlene (Avery) Youngblood. A 1980 graduate of Wichita Falls High School, he was selected All-State in baseball. He played summer league for the Burkburnett Black Sox program and was on the Texas State Championship team. He attended LaBette Community College in Parsons, Kansas on a full baseball scholarship. He was a partner at Youngblood’s Service Station. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Wichita Falls. “Big Tom” loved to play baseball, dancing and fishing. He lived life to the fullest. His passion in life was his “kids”, his beloved dogs, Chelsey, Shorty, Mosey, Sissy and Puddin.

Survivors include his father, Don Youngblood of Wichita Falls; mother, Charlene Avery Barbour and husband, Jim of Iowa Park; sister, Cindy Jordan and husband, Mike of Iowa Park; brother, Curt Youngblood and wife, Tracy of Wichita Falls; sister, Linda Vietenheimer and husband, Trey of Deek Creek; step-siblings, Jimmy Cleveland, Shenista Cleveland and LaVirla Cleveland; also, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Y.M.C.A., Youth Baseball Program.
