Franklin Joseph Taylor, 87, of Wichita Falls, passed away Friday, April 10, 2009.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2009 in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with Rev. Chester Odom, and Rev. Lenard Brothers, officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

A son of the late Hugh Gilbert and Florence Nightingale (Sweet) Taylor, he was born September 5, 1921 in Mangum, Oklahoma. On February 25, 1945, he married Blanch Kathryn Worthington. Frank owned and operated Frank Taylor Plumbing for 40 years. He was a member of Woodhaven Baptist Church where he previously taught Sunday School, he served as Sunday School Superintendent, and as a Deacon, and was past President of The Brotherhood. Frank loved gospel music, and enjoyed singing, and fellowship with his church family. He was also preceded in death by his son, David Lee Taylor; and his brother, Herbert Wayne Taylor.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Blanch Taylor of Wichita Falls; his son, William “Bill” Taylor of Springtown; brother, Hugh Gilbert Taylor, Jr. and wife Allamae of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Angie, Patricia, and Billy, Jr.; five great-grandchildren, Ashley, Krista, Jessica, Ryan, and Faith; sisters-in-law, Betty Sanders and Darline Worthington; and cousins, Paul and Mary Kinnard all of Wichita Falls.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2009 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
